Christmas Sugar Cookies

This is about the best recipe that I have come across for rolled sugar cookies...the sour cream keeps these moist.... and boy what a delicious flavour for a cookie!
Note: plan ahead, the cookie dough needs to chill for 2 hours.

1   cup butter, softened (no substitutes)
2   cups icing sugar
1   egg
1/4   cup sour cream
1/4   cup honey
2   teaspoons vanilla
3 1/2   cups flour
1   teaspoon baking soda
1   teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2   teaspoon ground mace
1/8   teaspoon salt
white candy coating, for drizzling on cookies
    green food coloring
    red food coloring

1.  In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
2.  Beat in the egg, sour cream, honey and vanilla.
3.  Combine the dry ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture.
4.  Cover and chill for 2 hours, or until dough is easy to handle.
5.  On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8-in thickness.
6.  Cut with 3-in cookie cutters dipped in flour.
7.  Place 1-in apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
8.  Bake at 325 degrees for 8-10 mins, or until lightly browned.
