Pages 1 and 2 - illustration pages. Page 3 "The Train With No Name" was created especially for Michael Jeremy Smith at the age of 8 With love from Grandpa and Grandma 2000 Page 4 Mike Smith went to the Fort Smith train station with Larry, Bill and Joe. They were going to see the big circus train later that day. Pages 5 & 6 - illustration pages. Page 7 Mike was given blue uniforms to try on. "Now we can be real engineers," said Larry, Bill and Joe. Page 8 Mike spent the day exploring all the trains lined up at the Fort Smith Train Station. Later, Mike heard the trains speaking... Pages 9 & 10 - illustration pages. Page 11 "It has three big engines!" said the Two Engine Express."...and smoke stacks as big as trees!" remarked the Timberline Steamer. Mike could see everyone was excited about the arrival of the circus train Page 12 Then Mike heard the little track tester say, "I can't wait to see all the animals and clowns." Page 13 & 14 - illustration pages. Page 15 "Who cares what you want?" huffed The Two Engine Express. "You don't even have a name or a proper engineer." Mike felt sorry for the train with no name. Page 16 "I never go anywhere important," sighed the little track tester. "More than anything, I wish I had an engineer." Mike had an idea. Soon, the trains left Fort Smith. The little track tester was last in line, but this time Mike was on board with Larry, Bill and Joe. Pages 17 & 18 - illustration pages. Page 19 "Look!" said Larry, Bill and Joe, reaching for the whistle. "Careful," warned Mike. "It's rusted shut." The little train stopped on its tracks. "Who's that?" shouted the train with no name. Mike proudly announced, "We're your new engineers!" Page 20 "But, you...you can't just..." Suddenly, Mike heard an alarm. "Look!" shouted Larry, Bill and Joe. Pages 21 & 22 - illustration pages. Page 23 Mike saw the circus train crossing the bridge. "A rail has come loose!" cried the track tester. "The circus train is in danger!" Page 24 Mike snatched a loose spike from the track. Then, just as the circus train raced over the bridge, he pushed the spike through the rusted whistle. Pages 25 & 26 - illustration pages. Page 27 Mike yanked the chord and the whistle sang out loud! The circus train suddenly came to a full stop. This gave everyone time to fix the track. Page 28 When Mike returned to Fort Smith, The Timberline Steamer rolled up, puffing with pride. "You have saved the circus train," he said. Pages 29 & 30 - illustration pages. Page 31 No longer a train with no name, the little track tester's new name was Hooty. Mike was Hooty's new engineer, along with Larry, Bill and Joe. Page 32 Mike had learned you don't have to be big to be important. Everyone cheered for Hooty, the biggest little train in Fort Smith.
