Page 3 - introduction page Susan's Book Page 4 This book is a gift for: Susan Ann Richardson With love from Aunt Linda and Uncle Bob October 2000 Page 5 This is for Susan Ann Richardson of Fort Smith. She is a big girl and wants to learn to use the potty. Page 6 This is Susan's diaper box. Every time Susan dirties her diaper. Mommy takes out a clean one. Page 7 - illustration page Page 8 One day when Susan was playing with Laura, she thought, "I don't want to wear diapers anymore. Laura doesn't wear a diaper. Laura wears underpants. It would be more fun to play without having to stop to get my diaper changed." Page 9 So Susan asked, "Mommy, can I wear underpants like Laura?" Page 10 Mommy said, "If you want to wear underpants, you have to go to a toilet like a big person." Page 11 "Okay, Mommy, I will.
I promise," said Susan. Page 12 "Not yet. First we have to go to the store to buy a potty, "Mommy said. Page 13 "Then we will buy underpants." Page 14 "Then I will teach you how to use the potty, "Mommy said. Page 15 Susan was so happy when her mommy brought her the new potty and underpants, she rushed right out to show Laura. Page 16 Laura was happy too. Now, Susan wouldn't have to stop playing just to go and get her diaper changed. Page 17 - illustration page. Page 18 When Susan went inside, Mommy took off Susan's diaper and showed her how to step into her new underpants. Page 19 "Don't these look
great! You look so big in your new underpants." Page 20 Then Mommy said,
"This is how you pull down your underpants, Page 21 - illustration page. Page 22 Sitting on the potty was easy because Mommy sat nearby. Page 23 "I can't, Mommy, I can't," said Susan. Page 24 "Why don't I read a book to you?" Mommy asked. "Then maybe you will be able to use the potty like a big person." Page 25 - illustration page. Page 26 Just as Mommy finished reading the book, Susan went tinkle in her potty for the very first time. She was so happy! Page 27 "Very good, Susan!" said Mommy. Then she gave Susan a big hug and kiss. Page 28 "I like flushing the toilet!" Page 29 - illustration page. Page 30 "I like growing up and learning new things." Page 31 - illustration page.
